Males pelmato are often violent against females until she is not "pregnent". so it happens the female stay during one or two weeks hidden. but she can still have a territory to defend until the day of breeding. The only thing to day is waiting. Her colors will appear again when the male try to charm her for breeding.
These fish look after their offspring very carefully, so it's very important to create separate territory for each species
